It might be hard to see, but each individual image in this photomosaic is a screenshot from the game Riven. There's around 9450 little screenshots, all carefully arranged so that together they form a likeness of another screenshot from Riven. I've never actually created a complete 1:1-sized version of this image; it's always been WAY too large. Some applications don't like images larger than 16,383x16,383, they crash ;) But if I was to make a 1:1 copy, without the border it would be around 54,630x41,160 and would take around 6.4 Gigabytes of storage space. If you printed that image at 300dpi, it would be 15'2"x11'5"... quite a large wall covering!
I have a few different-sized versions of this image available as wallpapers for people to use. I've tried to make as many different sizes as possible, but if yours isn't listed you can easily make it yourself. Either resample a larger version or add a larger black border around a smaller version and you should be good to go. So anyway, these images are all lossless 24-bit png images - in other words, I made them as small as I possibly could without making any quality compromises. I personally hate having a desktop with jpeg blocks all over it, so I wanted to avoid that at all costs. Anyway, there is a zip package(9.07MB) featuring all the images together in one handy bundle. If you don't want to download the entire package, you can download the individual images as well. Take your pick from any of these versions: 640x480(634KB), 800x600(0.98MB), 1024x768(1.52MB), 1280x960(2.33MB), 1600x1200(3.60MB).
This is one of a set of three photomosaics I have made from Riven. If you like this one, be sure to check out Wahrk Gallows and Tay. And for reference, here's a copy of the original screenshot I replicated and a closeup so you can see that it really is made up of lots of little images. If you really like this piece and you feel like leaving a comment telling me what you do/don't like, check out its deviantART page.

If you're still reading this you must be really bored. I suggest a game of Tiddlywinks to pass the time.
